Worship at the Alter is an interactive narrative about escapism, obsession, and the struggle between the mundane and the fantastical. As an office worker, you stumble upon an old floppy disk that opens a portal to an ancient shrine in a forgotten world. But the portal is unstable. The player only has minutes before being pulled back to reality. Each return deepens the divide between your everyday responsibilities and the allure of the unknown, forcing them to balance workplace obligations, relationships, and the growing compulsion to sacrifice everything for the goddess beyond the portal. Every choice shapes their fate—will they maintain their real life, or lose themselves chasing something greater? Worship at the Alter asks: how much of yourself are you willing to give for escape?
