Ionic Drift is designed & programmed as a solo project by Paul Baczek. It is still a work in progress
The point of this game is to introduce children to electric field concept relating to charged particles. It is useful to get kids interested in science as soon as possible and in as many ways as possible. After playing the game, people should have a basic understanding of how electrons and protons interact. Additionally, it can help reveal aspects of electric fields and electrostatic potential (fancy way of saying voltage). To assess player knowledge, a 3-star ranking system can be included in the game. Additionally, magnetic fields will be introduced later in the game. When a charged particle moves in space, it generates a magnetic field as well. This magnetic field introduces rotational motion to the charged particles and exploring it adds more gameplay options and improves the realism of the simulation.
The more efficiently the player solves these puzzles, the higher their star count for completing the level. Cosmetics that can be used to change how your lab environment and particles look can be bought with these stars. They can save up their stars and spend them on these cosmetics as the game progresses.
The goal of this game is to make the players feel a sense of accomplishment, epic meaning, and empowerment. Accomplishment from finishing levels, epic meaning from a storyline where the completion of levels results in progressing the in-game world's technology and standard of living, and empowerment by giving these players applicable real-world knowledge.

The idea to combine practical learning with puzzle games is interesting and there is a lot you could do to expand this, so I'm invested in seeing where it goes. Once I figured out what was going on, this was pretty interesting and fun. It would be nice if there were several tutorial levels that explained the concepts that you are trying to build on. I'm interested to see how you expand on this game's gamefeel in the coming months!
